1. Our Commitment
NC Canna Market is committed to providing reasonable access to the NC Canna Festival for attendees with disabilities.
We will make reasonable modifications to Festival policies, practices, and procedures when necessary to provide access, except where a requested modification would fundamentally alter the nature of the Festival, create a significant safety concern, or is otherwise not required by applicable law.
2. Accessibility Requests
Attendees who need an accessibility-related accommodation are encouraged to contact us before the Festival at:
NCCMarket@icloud.com
Please provide enough information for us to understand the requested accommodation.
Advance notice is encouraged when an accommodation may require additional planning, equipment, communication support, or coordination.
Requests made closer to the Festival or on-site will still be considered and addressed when reasonably possible.
3. Accessible Parking & Arrival
The Festival Map and arrival information will identify available:
Accessible parking
Accessible drop-off areas
Main entrance and check-in
Accessible routes where available
Extended parking and transportation information
Attendees needing assistance with arrival or parking may contact Festival staff before the event or ask for assistance at check-in.
4. Festival Grounds
The NC Canna Festival is primarily an outdoor event.
Festival areas may include:
Grass
Gravel
Dirt
Slopes
Uneven terrain
Temporary pathways
Weather-affected surfaces
We will identify and maintain accessible routes to major Festival areas where reasonably available.
Attendees with mobility concerns are encouraged to review the Festival Map or contact us for route information before attending.
5. Mobility Devices
Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers, canes, crutches, and other manually powered mobility aids used by individuals with disabilities are permitted in public Festival areas.
Other power-driven mobility devices will be addressed in accordance with applicable accessibility and safety requirements.
Festival staff may provide route guidance when terrain, crowds, weather, or temporary conditions affect normal access.
Federal ADA guidance generally requires wheelchairs and manually powered mobility aids to be permitted anywhere members of the public are allowed to go.
6. Accessible Festival Areas
NC Canna Market will work with the venue to provide reasonable access to major Festival services and areas, including as applicable:
Admission and check-in
Vendor areas
Food and beverage areas
Main programming
Restrooms
VIP areas for eligible attendees
Experiences for eligible participants
First aid and emergency services
An attendee who encounters an accessibility barrier should notify Festival staff so reasonable assistance or an alternative can be considered.
7. Festival Experiences
All Festival experiences remain subject to their normal eligibility requirements, including the Festival's 21+ requirement.
A disability does not by itself prevent an eligible attendee from participating.
Reasonable modifications will be considered when they can be provided without fundamentally changing the activity or creating a significant safety concern.
Attendees who anticipate needing modifications for a particular experience are encouraged to contact us in advance.
8. Effective Communication
Attendees who need communication-related assistance may request reasonable accommodations.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include reasonable assistance relating to:
Printed information
Verbal instructions
Festival announcements
Registration or check-in
Experience instructions
Emergency information
The appropriate accommodation will depend on the nature, length, complexity, and circumstances of the communication and the attendee's needs. DOJ guidance requires covered public accommodations to provide effective communication and appropriate auxiliary aids and services when required.
SERVICE ANIMALS
9. Service Animals
Service animals are permitted in Festival areas as required by applicable law.
Service animals are treated separately from the Festival's general pet policy.
A service animal must remain under the control of its handler.
The Festival does not require a service animal to:
Wear a special vest
Carry certification
Have professional training documentation
Federal ADA guidance generally defines qualifying service animals based on training to perform work or tasks for a person with a disability rather than certification or identification.
10. Service Animal Safety
A service animal may be required to leave a particular area when permitted by applicable law, including when the animal:
Is out of control and the handler does not take effective action
Is not housebroken
Creates a legitimate safety concern that cannot reasonably be addressed another way
When a service animal must be removed, Festival staff will make reasonable efforts to allow the attendee to continue participating without the animal when possible.
11. No Accessibility Surcharge
NC Canna Market will not impose an additional fee solely because an attendee requires a reasonable disability-related accommodation or uses a service animal.
Normal charges that apply equally to other attendees, such as tickets, experiences, parking, or optional services, still apply.
SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
12. Emergency Assistance
Attendees who may need assistance during an evacuation or emergency are encouraged to identify themselves to Festival staff upon arrival if they are comfortable doing so.
During an emergency, attendees should follow instructions from:
Festival staff
Venue staff
Security
Fire personnel
EMS
Law enforcement
Festival personnel may provide reasonable assistance based on the circumstances and available resources.
13. Temporary Conditions
Because the Festival is outdoors, weather, emergencies, crowd conditions, or venue conditions may temporarily affect an otherwise accessible route or area.
When reasonably possible, Festival staff may:
Redirect attendees to another route
Provide assistance
Relocate an activity
Identify an alternative viewing or participation area
Take other reasonable steps to maintain access
FINAL TERMS
14. Individual Assessment
Accessibility needs vary by person and circumstance.
NC Canna Market will evaluate accommodation requests individually rather than automatically refusing an accommodation based solely on a general rule.
Nothing in this Policy requires a modification that applicable law does not require.
15. Relationship to Other Festival Policies
This Policy should be read together with:
Master Attendee Terms & Conditions
Ticket, Refund, Transfer & Event Changes Policy
Experience Participation, Age Verification & Consumption Terms
Festival Safety, Conduct & Prohibited Items Policy
When an accessibility-related reasonable modification is required by applicable law, Festival policies will be applied consistently with that requirement.
