Attendee conduct standards, entry and safety screening, emergency procedures, restricted areas, pets and service animals, photography/drones, and grounds for removal or refusal of admission.
Part of the Festival Safety, Conduct & Prohibited Items Policy.

1. Purpose
This Policy establishes safety, conduct, security, and prohibited-item requirements for the NC Canna Festival.
It applies to all attendees and supplements the Master Attendee Terms & Conditions.
Everyone entering Festival property must follow:
- Festival rules
- Venue rules
- Posted signs
- Reasonable staff instructions
- Emergency and safety directions
2. Respectful Conduct
NC Canna Festival is intended to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
The following conduct is prohibited:
- Violence or threats
- Fighting
- Harassment or discrimination
- Unwanted physical or sexual contact
- Intimidation or stalking
- Theft
- Vandalism or property damage
- Dangerous or reckless behavior
- Unauthorized vending or solicitation
- Interfering with staff or emergency personnel
- Excessive impairment that creates a safety concern
- Refusing reasonable Festival or venue instructions
- Conduct that creates a substantial risk to another person, animal, or property
Serious or repeated violations may result in removal without refund.
SAFETY & SECURITY
8. Entry & Safety Screening
Entry and re-entry are subject to reasonable Festival and venue safety requirements.
Attendees may be asked to:
- Present a ticket or credential
- Present identification
- Show a Festival wristband
- Complete age verification
- Comply with reasonable safety screening
- Remove prohibited items from Festival property
Refusal to comply with required safety procedures may result in denied entry or re-entry.
9. Excessive Impairment
Attendees who appear excessively impaired or unable to safely participate may be:
- Refused additional product service or samples
- Denied access to an experience
- Removed from a consumption area
- Asked to remain with a responsible party
- Referred for medical assistance
- Removed from the Festival when reasonably necessary for safety
Possession of a ticket, wristband, VIP credential, or paid experience does not guarantee continued access when an attendee cannot safely participate.
10. Emergencies
In an emergency, attendees must follow instructions from:
- Festival staff
- Venue personnel
- Security
- Fire personnel
- EMS
- Law enforcement
- Other authorized emergency responders
Emergency conditions may require:
- Temporary evacuation
- Movement to another area
- Closure of an area
- Restricted entry or re-entry
- Suspension of an activity
- Changes to normal Festival operations
For a serious or life-threatening emergency, call 911 and notify Festival staff when reasonably possible.
11. Emergency Access
Attendees must keep the following clear:
- Fire lanes
- Emergency access routes
- Entrances and exits
- Accessible pathways
- Staff-only emergency areas
- Medical response areas
Vehicles, chairs, coolers, equipment, bags, and other personal property may not obstruct emergency or accessible routes.
PROPERTY & FESTIVAL OPERATIONS
12. Venue Property
Attendees may not intentionally damage, alter, remove, or interfere with:
- Venue property
- Festival equipment
- Vendor property
- Signs
- Barricades
- Electrical equipment
- Temporary structures
- Decorations
- Safety equipment
Attendees may be responsible for damage, cleanup, or other costs caused by their intentional, reckless, or negligent conduct.
13. Restricted Areas
Attendees may enter only areas appropriate for their ticket, credential, wristband, or authorization.
Restricted areas may include:
- VIP areas
- Media areas
- Vendor-only areas
- Staff areas
- Production areas
- Backstage areas
- Camping areas
- Experience areas
- Emergency or medical areas
Unauthorized entry into a restricted area may result in removal of the attendee's access privileges or removal from the Festival.
14. Unauthorized Sales & Promotion
Attendees may not sell, distribute, advertise, solicit, or promote products or services at the Festival without prior approval from NC Canna Market.
This includes unauthorized:
- Product sales
- Food or beverage sales
- Product samples
- Flyers
- Promotional materials
- Business solicitation
- Raffles
- Commercial activities
Approved vendors, sponsors, performers, media, and authorized Festival partners remain subject to their applicable agreements.
PETS & SERVICE ANIMALS
15. Pets
Leashed pets are permitted at the Festival.
Pet owners are responsible for:
- Keeping their animal under control
- Knowing the animal's temperament
- Cleaning up after the animal
- Providing appropriate water and care
- Preventing unwanted contact with attendees or other animals
- Any injury, damage, or disruption caused by their animal
Festival staff may require a pet to leave if the animal is:
- Aggressive
- Uncontrolled
- Unattended
- Excessively disruptive
- Showing significant distress
- Creating a safety concern
Bringing a pet into a crowded Festival environment is at the owner's discretion and responsibility.
16. Service Animals
Service animals will be accommodated as required by applicable law.
Nothing in the Festival's general pet rules is intended to restrict lawful access for a person using a service animal.
Service animals must remain under the handler's control as required by applicable law.
PHOTOGRAPHY & DRONES
17. Photography & Personal Recording
Personal photography and casual recording are permitted when they do not:
- Interfere with Festival operations
- Block walkways
- Enter restricted areas
- Harass attendees
- Violate another person's reasonable expectation of privacy
- Interfere with credentialed media
Professional or commercial photography and video may require an approved Media Credential.
Credentialed media are subject to the separate Media Credential & Content Agreement.
18. Drones
Drone operation is prohibited unless specifically authorized in writing by NC Canna Market and otherwise operated in compliance with applicable requirements.
Possession of a drone does not constitute permission to operate it during the Festival.
REMOVAL & ENFORCEMENT
19. Right to Refuse or Revoke Admission
Festival admission is a revocable license.
NC Canna Market and authorized venue representatives may deny entry, restrict access, revoke a credential, or remove an attendee when reasonably necessary because of:
- Violation of this Policy
- Violation of another Festival policy
- Safety or security concerns
- Excessive impairment
- Fraud or credential misuse
- Threatening or disruptive behavior
- Prohibited items
- Unauthorized activity
- Legal requirements
- Venue requirements
- Emergency conditions
Attendees removed for misconduct or policy violations are not entitled to a refund.
20. Failure to Leave
An attendee whose admission or access has been revoked must leave the Festival property or restricted area when directed by an authorized Festival or venue representative.
Refusal to leave may result in involvement of venue security or law enforcement.
Removal from the Festival may also result in denial of re-entry.
21. Law Enforcement
NC Canna Market may contact law enforcement or emergency services when reasonably appropriate because of:
- Violence
- Threats
- Theft
- Property damage
- Suspected criminal activity
- Serious safety concerns
- Refusal to leave after removal
- Medical emergencies
- Other circumstances requiring outside assistance
Festival staff are not required to personally intervene in a situation when doing so would create additional danger.
22. No Refund for Violations
An attendee removed, denied access, or denied participation because of their own violation of Festival policies is not entitled to a refund for:
- Admission
- VIP
- Experiences
- Competition entries
- Credentials
- Other unused Festival benefits
Refunds involving event cancellations or operational changes are governed by the Ticket, Refund, Transfer & Event Changes Policy.
FINAL TERMS
23. Changes for Safety or Legal Compliance
NC Canna Market may reasonably modify safety, security, access, or prohibited-item requirements when necessary because of:
- Emergency conditions
- Venue requirements
- Government action
- Changes in applicable law
- Fire risk
- Weather
- Crowd conditions
- Public safety concerns
Attendees must follow the rules in effect during the Festival.
24. Incorporated Terms
This Policy should be read together with:
- Master Attendee Terms & Conditions
- Ticket, Refund, Transfer & Event Changes Policy
- Experience Participation, Age Verification & Consumption Terms
- Accessibility & Accommodation Policy
- Other applicable participant-specific agreements
When a specific agreement imposes additional restrictions for a particular activity or area, those additional requirements apply.
